Marchia Yodhian

Marchia started to play piano at the age of 6 under the guidance of Ms Ninie Hanitio at Melodi Musik Studio – Medan Musik. During her high school year, she started taking piano lesson with Ms Sri Suliani Leo. After graduating from high school in 2000, she continued to further her studies in music at University Sedaya Collage International (UCSI) –Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for one and a half years, graduating with Diploma in Music. In 2002, Marchia was admitted to West Virginia University (WVU) where she studied for three and a half years: two yearsof Bachelor’s – continuing the transfer program from UCSI and one and a half years of Master’s. During her studyin WVU – Morgantown, Marchia studied piano with Dr. Christine Bane Kefferstan.In December 2003, Marchia graduated her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance with a magna cum laude. She continued to further her study in the same university and obtaining her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance in May 2005.


Since her young age, Marchia had activelyparticipating in the concerts and competitions held by the music school in her hometown, Medan. During her studies in the university, she gained her performanceexperiences in studio classes, masterclasses, and recitals. She also performed in chamber music as an accompanist for vocalists andinstrumentalists. Apart from performing as a pianist, Marchia also participated in thechoir in the university as a mezzo-soprano.


In 2006, Marchia started her career as a piano and music theory teacher in her hometown, teaching at her former music school Melodi Music Studio and lastly at Irama Music Studio. Besides teaching, she alsoparticipated in organizing and performing in the concerts held by the music school. In January 2016, Marchia joined Gloriamus Music School (Sekolah Musik Gloriamus), teaching piano and music theory
