BIOGRAPHY

Viriany Setiosa, Indonesian
American pianist graduated from the Manhattan School of Music ,New York City in 2013 with Masters and Professional Degree of music performance under the tutelage of Nina Sverlanova and Ubaldo Diaz Acosta, where she was the recipient of the International Advisory Board Scholarship. Her New York City Debut tool place on November 2010 , at Carnigie Hall as part of winner series from the International Artist Audition Piano Competition. Her recital draw a standing public review as a “sensitive player with remarkable technique and precision on the key” New york Concert Review,Inc.

Highlights from 2012 include: 1st prize winner at Chopin International Piano Competition, Connecticut,USA, 2nd prize winner at the Marbella International Piano Festival and Competition, Spain, 1st prize winner at the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition; her recent winning at the New York Concerti Sinfonietta Orchestra Debut under the baton of Paul Hottester: a concerto  performance with the Bronx Symphony Orchestra playing Beethoven Piano Concerto no.2; her performances in a masterclass by Phillipe Entremont, Nina Lelchuck, Barry Snyder,Gerald  Robbins and Arie Vardi; a solo   recital at the Digital Comcert Hall Berlin as part of winning a 2nd prize of Berlin Philharmonic Debut Competition.
She regularly gives recital in USA,Europe and Indonesia. Setiosa  began her piano studies at the age of 5 with Iswargia       Sudarno at the Jakarta Conservatory of Music and made her first public appearance at age 8 as an honor student. At 16 , she moved to US to study under Russian famous pedagogue Nina Svetlanova where she learn the principal of the relaxation technique from the Russian legendary Heinrich Neuhaus.

She was later accepted at the Manhattan School of Music, one of the most prestigious music universities in the world with almost full scholarships by the Helen Cohn Foundation, Ms. Setiosa is a resident artist in Jakarta asam active performer and masterclass teacher. Her other awards include five grand and first prizes in national and provincial contests held in Jakarta which led into performances in prestigious hall such as: mini theater, at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Gedung Kesenian Jakartam Poland Embassy of Indonesia, Erasmus Huis as well as Australian Embassy, Jakarta.
